I came to Care Force with no experience and was invited onto the Care Certificate induction programme: Overall I enjoyed the training. One thing I found very useful was that Mr Hollingsworth (John) made me look at the topic from different angles. I really admire the positive outlook and interpretations he led us to. It gave me the opportunity to look at care with fresh eyes. Ageing and accompanying failing health issues are realistically a ”Sad” happening, yet Mr Hollingsworth brought my focus to be positive. He never dwells on the negatives. I found this inspiring knowing that we can add value and quality to the lives of people by being there and enabling them to remain in their own homes, which is a wonderful thing. We should be proud of this. The Training was most informative, much of what we covered was common sense, and things we carry out without questioning or really reflecting on the “whys” behind them. The pace was spot on, meeting the needs of everyone in the group. It wasn’t too fast to leave us lost, or to slow to leave us board, and even though we had to cover a great deal within a certain time frame, Mr Hollingsworth made the atmosphere friendly and I felt able to ask questions, If I didn’t understand he didn’t make you feel rushed but spent the time required for the group to fully understand the topic. I like everyone was able to contribute we all had an input and were able to reflect on personal experiences. The group’s dynamics were really good. I liked being reminded of work /life balances as I tend to put too much emphasis on the work side. I am a natural perfectionist and always want to go the extra mile. So it was good to made aware of time management. Mr Hollingsworth requested we conduct a reflective log on all the training which is something I had not done before, and it made me mindful of area where I will need to be extra vigilante. I now appreciate I should not only reflect on my work ethics by also those of my peers. I need to look and learn also be prepared to change. On the whole the induction was worth its weight in gold. The group and Mr Hollingsworth were very supportive. Mr Hollingsworth utilised appropriate aids and the structure flowed extremely well. Suitable hand outs were provided. I found the reflection each morning on the previous day was be very useful. Mr Hollingsworth has assessed the Care certificate in great detail his knowledge of how the induction can be transferred into community work is without doubt second to none. We also covered additions subjects such as Moving and positioning, Medication, Food Hygiene, first Aid plus others. In conclusion the training within Care Force was extremely beneficial and having discussed it with present employees it embracers the company’s approach to quality. Quality staff equals quality care.
